Well it’s definitely that time of year. Time for Christmas photos! It’s so fun for me when I get to photograph families from year to year. I love seeing how the kids grow and how their personalities develop.

Seems like my families have a lot of boys, which means, LOTS of energy. Which in turn stresses mom out, thinking there’s no way they’ll have a good photo for their Christmas card. But I just eat it up. The kids make me laugh and I love it when their spirited-ness shines through!

I just love this family. You’ve seen them a couple of times on my blog this year with the addition of baby Tessa! Jennifer does a great job of styling. They are a PERFECT example of how to coordinate without being “matchy-matchy”. One dose of cuteness coming up!

Y’all know how much I love living in Fullerton. One of the things I love most is the community I’ve been able to create and the friends I’ve made with neighbors. One of those is my friend Amber Fox. She is a super talented photographer who I met through the photo industry. This past year, Amber and her husband John bought a house exactly one mile from mine. It’s been so fun to have a friend that can pop over at a moment’s notice or who will call me up and invite me over for dinner five minutes before it’s ready. She has become such a dear friend.

The other day we decided we needed new photos of ourselves for our websites. I mean, I chopped about 8 inches off of my hair since the last ones! It was time.

Disneyland Family Photo Shoot

When Jennifer called me about doing a family photo shoot at Disneyland, she said it would either be a ton of fun or a complete disaster! Fortunately it was a blast! I don’t know how these parents do it. And if chasing after 6 year old triplets and running a bakery wasn’t enough, they’re adding one more little one to the bunch! I will be posting the newborn session of little miss Tessa soon, but for now, check out our fun afternoon!

Beautiful Mama-Fullerton Maternity Photos

There are so many great things about my job. One of my favorite things is all the new friends I get to make. When I shot Rob & Robin’s wedding (I know… funny, huh?) a couple of years ago, I just fell in love with them. I had so much fun getting to know them and their families. As a matter of fact, I just met with Rob’s mom today to talk about shooting her daughter’s wedding! But I digress…..

But I get to watch as their families grow. Well, Rob and Robin are expecting their first baby any day… literally. I think her due date was like a week ago! We got together a few weeks ago to take some photos of Robin and her cute belly. One of my favorite things Robin said was when I asked her if she minded showing some tummy. She said, “Not at all. I don’t even feel like it’s my stomach. It’s like it’s not even a part of my body!” Preggo bellies are weird like that. Especially when they start moving! It’s like a little alien!

Well we pray for a quick and safe delivery of baby Schannep. They are doing a home birth with a midwife and I can’t wait to hear about it!

Such a cutie! Orange County Portrait Photography

Remember a few weeks ago when it was pouring down rain? I know… that describes several weeks this winter! Well a few weeks ago I had a session scheduled with this little pumpkin! It was pouring outside and pretty dark in the house as well. But you’d never know it from the photos!

This family recently bought a new house in La Canada. (How do you do type that little squiggly thing over the n so that people don’t think I’m talking about Canada the country? ) Anyway, they asked if I thought it would be better to do the shoot at their old house or the new one that’s empty. New one! New one! It was awesome! Because it was empty and there were so many windows it was like being in a natural light studio! Yes please! So let this be a lessons to you….. plan a photo shoot in your new house before you move in!

OH! And btw… this family had the Glee soundtrack playing the entire time. Bonus cool points for them. Well, they might be regretting that since I sang along the whole time.

She wasn’t very happy with me at first.

But we warmed up.

Couldn’t forget big sis. I took her photos when she was 6 months old too. Now look how big she is!

Headshots are so fun! OK…. I think I say that about everything I shoot. But I do have an awesome job, right? Well what I like about headshots is that I get to work with people one on one and bring out their true beauty, which usually isn’t hard at all.

It was especially easy with my friend Lindye. Lindye is an awesome event planner in Orange County, and just a great person and friend. She and I got together to shoot some new photos for her new website, which is awesome! Make sure you check it out.

Check out what we got. Yes, her skin really IS that perfect. Stop your hating (and I will try to as well).

This is Karey. She’s awesome.

Karey and I met a couple of years ago at a photography conference. I had no idea that she would become one of my dearest friends. At first it was just nice to find a friend that I could talk about photography and business with and ask questions when I needed some advice. But it’s even more valuable to me to have a friend who will listen to me cry on the phone, will celebrate even the smallest of victories, and who will drive over in the pouring rain to give me a hug after the latest heartbreak.

We got together last weekend to just have some fun shooting. It was a blast and I’m excited about what I got!

When I shot these last few, we had almost zero light left. Karey kept saying, “I can’t believe you’re even getting anything.” Yay for my 1.4 lens!

Oh baby!- Corona Children’s photography

Baby portraits are so much fun! I love being invited into people’s homes and seeing how they do life. I love the search for good light in their home. And I just love them babies! You never know what to expect and they’re just super cute!

This baby’s mom, Lucy, has some great friends. They went together and bought a gift certificate for a portrait session for her baby shower. What a great idea! I’ve had a few other people do the same thing recently. What a great gift. Something he won’t grow out of and something the whole family will cherish forever.

This reading stuff is serious business!

Baby giggles are just the greatest.
