A while back I got an email from Tammy who lives in Minnesota. Her parents’ 40th anniversary was coming up and the whole family was going to be in southern California to celebrate. They wanted to give the gift of photography to their parents. What a perfect gift for those parents who have everything they need! So we met up in Temecula.

The other day I posted the photos of the Williams family at Disneyland. At the time they were excitedly waiting for the arrival of little Tessa. Well she’s here!!!!!

Now can you imagine how much fun it was for a mom of 3 boys, who’s favorite color is pink, to decorate a nursery for a girl! SO much fun!

The baby photo below is actually a photo of mom, Jennifer. It’s so cool to see the family resemblance.

Found out pretty quickly that she didn’t like laying on her tummy.

Bubbles

When the boys first found out they were going to have a little sister they decided that they should call her “Sweetheart”.

This photo just cracks me up for some reason. The tilted frame with the little army men underneath is just a snapshot of life with 6 year old triplets!

I don’t think this girl is gonna have any trouble holding her own! Look at that kick!

I couldn’t pick a favorite. I just love this series.

Disneyland Family Photo Shoot

When Jennifer called me about doing a family photo shoot at Disneyland, she said it would either be a ton of fun or a complete disaster! Fortunately it was a blast! I don’t know how these parents do it. And if chasing after 6 year old triplets and running a bakery wasn’t enough, they’re adding one more little one to the bunch! I will be posting the newborn session of little miss Tessa soon, but for now, check out our fun afternoon!

Kids grow so quickly. That’s why I’m sure this little one is probably a foot taller since we did this shoot a few months ago!

This family was such a blessing to photograph. The daddy of this little peanut is one great husband! He gave his wife a gift certificate for a family shoot with me for Christmas. When I asked what this little sweetie likes, mom, Jennifer, told me she loves trains and balloons. So I grabbed some balloons and spent the afternoon playing around the Los Rios District. The owner of the flower shop even came out and gave this little cutie a pretty rose to match her pink tutu. So sweet! It’s days like these that make me so grateful to do what I do.

Gotta get one of mom and dad.

She liked watching her shadow jump!

Teeny tiny one!

Have you ever noticed that people (OK mostly women) just seem to stand around and stare at a newborn baby sleep? It’s like we’re mesmerized and can’t take our eyes off, both in wonder and in anticipation that she might yawn or move a little. Even the slightest movement gets oohs and ahs. Last week I got to go stare at a new little bundle of joy. I went to visit my dear friend Christine who just became a mommy on Mother’s Day! She and Vic, who are home for a while before heading out to work overseas, welcomed little Selah Grace into the world at about 12:30 pm on Mother’s Day. When I walked into the house, this cute little 3 day old sweetie was asleep on daddy’s chest. That’s just about the most precious thing ever! When daddy woke up he immediately asked if I wanted to hold her. Of course! I just kept holding her little hand in wonder at how teeny tiny those little fingernails are! So cute!

So glad I took my camera!

Remember a few weeks ago when it was pouring down rain? I know… that describes several weeks this winter! Well a few weeks ago I had a session scheduled with this little pumpkin! It was pouring outside and pretty dark in the house as well. But you’d never know it from the photos!

This family recently bought a new house in La Canada. (How do you do type that little squiggly thing over the n so that people don’t think I’m talking about Canada the country? ) Anyway, they asked if I thought it would be better to do the shoot at their old house or the new one that’s empty. New one! New one! It was awesome! Because it was empty and there were so many windows it was like being in a natural light studio! Yes please! So let this be a lessons to you….. plan a photo shoot in your new house before you move in!

OH! And btw… this family had the Glee soundtrack playing the entire time. Bonus cool points for them. Well, they might be regretting that since I sang along the whole time.

She wasn’t very happy with me at first.

But we warmed up.

Couldn’t forget big sis. I took her photos when she was 6 months old too. Now look how big she is!

Baby portraits are so much fun! I love being invited into people’s homes and seeing how they do life. I love the search for good light in their home. And I just love them babies! You never know what to expect and they’re just super cute!

This baby’s mom, Lucy, has some great friends. They went together and bought a gift certificate for a portrait session for her baby shower. What a great idea! I’ve had a few other people do the same thing recently. What a great gift. Something he won’t grow out of and something the whole family will cherish forever.

This reading stuff is serious business!

Alright! I’m finally getting back to the photos from the super cute Wallin family. We met up at Shoreline Village in Long Beach. What a fun place to shoot! All the bright colors and even an arcade that we had fun with. These photos were to commemorate this little guy’s first birthday! What a cute little personality he has. And how happy was I when I saw all their matching “Chucks”? VERY!!!!! I love me my Converse tennies! They even brought along this awesomely huge balloon. I’m sad to report that there was a little accident about half way through our shoot and we lost the balloon. We watched it float away and we could actually see it for a long time because it was so big!

How funny is this?!

I couldn’t pick between these two. I know….. real shocker!

Last weekend I spent the morning with my good friend Jill and her family. I’ve photographed big brother several times, but this was the little guy’s first portrait session. Both of these little ones are cuuuuuties! Big brother definitely has a mischievous streak, while little man is super low key and smiley most of the time. Near the end of our session I think he discovered his tongue because he just kept sticking it out! It was SO funny. Check out some of their cuteness.
