Chris & Megan- Fullerton Arboretum Wedding

Weddings are a big deal.  Two people, with stories of their own, have crossed paths and have decided to write their story together.  It’s a celebration of a brand new story that’s being told.  It’s for this very reason that I think weddings should be very personal.  They should reflect aspects of these two people and their relationship.

Megan & Chris’s wedding had them all over it.  I loved that there was so much meaning in every single detail of the day.   One of my favorite moments of the day was when Chris’s sister delivered a journal that Megan had been keeping for two years.  She had started writing letters to him in it while she was living in Uganda and he in Costa Rica.  It was a place that she was able to record her feelings when she was excited and when she was lonely and wondered if this whole long distance thing was really worth it.  She wrote the last entry the morning of the wedding.  So emotional!

Burlap and lace, family and friends, were the themes of their wedding.  They made their own invitations which were so cute!

Megan’s burlap Tom’s.  Awesome.

Megan wore pearls that her grandpa had given her grandma and then her mom.  She told me, “When I was little he would always talk about how excited he was to see me at my wedding but he died when I was 9. The pearls were a little piece of him.”

Just gorgeous.

Chris had monogramed tie clips made for all of his groomsmen. He also presented each one of them with groomsmen watches he’d bought online.

And what a fun group of guys they were!

Megan’s mom made the flower girls skirts.  So cute!

Over the course of their six years of dating, Megan dried all of the flowers that Chris gave her.  She put the petals from the flowers in the flower girl baskets and that’s what they dropped to pave the way for the bride.  It doesn’t get much more sentimental than that.  I love that!

Such an emotional moment.

I love how Chris is high five-ing his dad.

Chris’s favorite color is green and Megan’s is orange so there were pops of those colors everywhere.  Megan changed into another pair of Tom’s which had been a birthday gift from Chris.

God shining down His love.

Guests munched on trail mix from the build your own trail mix bar.

Such a gorgeous evening.

The Fullerton Arboretum is such a beautiful backdrop.  Megan had necklaces made for each of her bridesmaids. Best Clear Lake City florist arranged beautiful flowers, freshly cut and hand-delivered to her door.

This little guy seriously stole the show.  He was awesome!

Their friends know how to get down!

Such a beautiful day.  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it!  May God bless you as you begin a new story together.

Love, Jen
